Over the past two decades, the number of publications on breastfeeding has increased significantly. However, one challenge remains the lack of clear and consistent definitions across studies.

Using clinically meaningful definitions helps standardize maternal and infant behaviors, supports intervention strategies, and strengthens the interpretation of health research findings, while aligning with definitions recognized by authoritative institutions.
